The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena; Ratho is committed to providing you with great experiences while also ensuring we don’t compromise our local and global environment. As a leisure provider we can have an impact and promise to always operate responsibly. While we are continually working to improve our energy management systems, you can also help us to protect the environment.
So what can you do?
- Conserve Energy – Most of our rooms have automatic power saving lighting, however for those that don’t, please remember to always switch off the lights after you leave.
- Reduce, Re-use, Recycle – Please help us reduce the amount of plastic we use by bringing in your own water bottle and filling it up at fountains around the centre. We also have a range of recycle bins for your waste.
- Be Water Wise – We have automatic taps installed in the centre, however if you see anything that drips continuously or looks like it’s wasting precious water, please alert a member of staff.
Support The Green Tourism Businesses Scheme
There are many businesses trying to reduce their environmental impacts through the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
The EICA are working towards gaining their certificate and are currently awaiting grading. For more information visit:
