Scottish winter climbing is world renowned for being exciting and unique. The feeling of satisfaction on completing a climb is beyond compare.
Our winter climbing training takes place in a vast variety of venues and on a number of different terrain types due to the distinct geology of this country. These include the snow ice of Ben Nevis, the frozen turf of The Cobbler, the frozen waterfalls of Beinn Udlaidh and the rock cracks of the Cairngorms.
This stunning landscape provides the climber and mountaineer with endless physical and mental challenges. The course content is dependant on your experience but may include guided ascents of Scottish winter climbs, lead climbing skills for those who aspire to lead winter climbs and winter scrambling skills for the winter hill walker.
Our team of instructors have many seasons of Scottish winter climbing experience and will devise a climb that suits your aspirations and takes account of the current climbing conditions. So you may experience snow, ice climbing or a combination of both.
To get the most from this course summer hill walking experience and indoor rock climbing experience are both prerequisites.
This course is available on request with dates to suit you however there are some set dates each winter too. If you are coming along as an individual this may be the best way for you to take part with other walkers and climbers. Course dates for Winter 2007/08 are March 2 and March 15 at a cost of £65.00 per person.
