Sheep and Shepherd

This is a fun game that requires little physical activity and the ability to make great animal noises. One of the group is elected the “shepherd”, the rest of the group are “sheep”. The “sheep” are blind and need to be directed, by the shepherd, back to the sheep pen. The sheep cannot speak nor can they understand any spoken words.
The group are given 5 minutes at the beginning of the task to decide on directions using only claps, whistles and animal noises.
For example:
- 1 claps - Forwards
- 2 claps - Backwards
- “Moo” - Team member number 1
- “Neigh” - Team member number 2
Each of these must be remembered by the team to enable them to get back to the pen. The shepherd must not touch the sheep and the sheep must not hold on to each other.
This event is great for:
- Encouraging trust, communication and co-operation
- Breaking down barriers between individuals or teams at work
- Working towards a shared goal
