EICA and TISO jointly bring you their 2010 Winter Lecture Series on Thursday the 4th of February! The action packed day will include master classes from Dave MacLeod in the arena in the afternoon, followed by lectures from Jonny Stocking and Dave Macleod at 7.30pm.
Masterclasses
Dave MacLeod will be coaching two set of masterclasses in the afternoon. Starting with a quick bouldering circuit, the expert will assess your movement technique. Then using specific exercises will highlight potential areas of improvement and work through a comprehensive range of technique drills on boulder problems, helping you to develop your skills.
Lecture one - 'Competition Climber to My First Alpine Route' by Jonny Stocking
At 16, Jonny is a key member of the BMC Junior Team and current Lead Climbing Champion. In the summer of 2009 he took on the mighty Brandler Hasse route, one of Europe's most sought after routes, 23 pitches to E5. Would this be his biggest challenge to date??
Lecture two - 'How Soon is Now' by Dave MacLeod
Having climbed the world's hardest and riskiest trad routes for several years, Dave MacLeod asks himself why the desire to keep taking risks and looking for harder rock climbs to attempt keeps getting stronger. Dave will try to show us why he loves the very delayed gratification of impossible seeming climbs so much, why getting to the top is one of the least important parts of the picture and show us some E11 climbing, on pitch 18 of his current project.
