From this year EICA Ratho will be running the Climbing Wall Award. This new, nationally recognised award is for climbers, youth workers and teachers with some experience of indoor wals who are in a position of responsibility, supervising climbing activities on indoor or outdoor climbing walls and towers. It is about demonstrating good practice to add to the enjoyment of the activity and covers personal climbing, supervising and management of climbing activities such as bouldering, the teaching of basic movement skills and roped climbing (but not lead climbing). All our Climbing Wall Award training and assessment courses will cover the abseiling module of this award.
Climbing Wall Award Training (including abseil module) costs £120 and is available on the following dates:
- 24 & 25 May
- 5 & 6 July
Climbing Wall Award Assessment (including abseil module) course cost £80 and will take place on:
- 14 June
- 2 August.
