Saturday 26 April is going to be a busy old day at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena. The South Scotland Regional heat of the Youth Climbing Series will be happening during the day and then in the evening the climbing arena will be transformed for a dinner and awards evening.
The event is a brilliant opportunity to see the arena transformed into something totally different but it will have some impact on operations.
From the evening of Friday 25 April the bouldering room will be cleared of mats and used to prepare for the dinner on Saturday evening. It will remain this way until Sunday and therefore reopen as normal on Monday 28 April.
The arena itself will remain open until 14.00 on Saturday 26 and reopen as normal on Sunday 27.
It's the first time that the arena has been used in this way and should prove to be an exciting night, thrilling our guests and testing the water for future big events. Next time it could be a cinema or even a concert in there!
