As host nation for the event, the British Junior Climbing Team has been allowed to enter six competitors in each of the categories, as opposed to the usual four. This unusually large number for the British Climbing Team resulted in a selection day at EICA in May to highlight the best 36 young climbers in the country and it is anticipated that many of this team will be challenging for contention.
